The article "Reaping Benefits from the Waste Management Business" highlights the growing interest in waste management and recycling as profitable and environmentally significant ventures. Major companies such as Astra Group, TOBA, OASA, and BIPI are actively investing in this sector.

Key Points:

OASA's Waste Processing Project:
PT Maharaksa Bina Energi Tbk (OASA) is developing a large-scale waste-to-energy processing facility in collaboration with China Tianying Inc (CNTY). Located in South Tangerang, this facility will process 1,100 tonnes of waste daily and is expected to be fully operational by 2028. The total investment is IDR 2.65 trillion. This initiative aims to convert waste into energy while generating carbon credits for additional revenue.

TOBA & BIPI's Participation:

PT TBS Energi Utama Tbk (TOBA) has acquired Sembcorp Environmental Management to strengthen its waste-to-energy operations domestically and in Singapore.
PT Astrindo Nusantara Infrastruktur Tbk (BIPI) is exploring technological innovations to support waste-to-energy conversion.

Growing Demand for Waste Projects:
Companies like OASA are pursuing waste processing plants to address Indonesia's waste challenges. The government supports these initiatives through policies and public funding.

Future Developments:
PT Jabar Energi Internasional is advancing its waste-to-energy facility in Bandung, with an estimated operation start in early 2024. Meanwhile, other firms such as Hitachi Zosen Corporation and Sumitomo Corporation are involved in building similar facilities.

Industry Potential:
Waste management not only addresses environmental concerns but also offers substantial economic potential. Improved technology and international partnerships are enabling Indonesian companies to manage waste more sustainably and profitably.

The article underscores the integration of innovation, environmental stewardship, and business aspirations in Indonesia’s emerging waste management sector.
